The US immigration nightmare began 20 years ago today. The media writes a lot about how Trump and the Republicans are the party of hate and fear-mongering against immigrants. Less known is the story of how Clinton and the Democrats actually created "Trumpismo" in immigration: deportations, detentions, death in the desert and night raids. It all began with President Bill Clinton.

It was 20 years ago today that Bill Clinton signed one of the most anti-immigrant laws in history: the Illegal immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (IIRIRA).

IIRIRA is the foundation of the immigration nightmare in the United States. Bill Clinton's laws resulted in the ripping apart of millions of families. There is a direct line from Clinton's IIRIRA to President Obama's 3 million deportations today. Secretary Clinton has not rejected either IIRIRA or the monstrous immigration machine it created.

Democrats would have you believe they deserve the immigrant and Latino vote, but a vote for the Democrats is a vote for more deportations, detentions, and night raids. Only a vote for the Green Party will show politicians that they can't take the pro-immigrant vote for granted. Don't waste your vote on the two-party system. Invest your vote in movement that will create a welcoming path to citizenship.
