Tom Wakely for Senate
(Deming, NM) - On April 29, 2024 the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust, a non-profit organization based in Washington D.C. called for an investigation into Senator Martin Heinrich for reportedly linking official action to a solicitation for campaign contributions. "While I am not a big fan of conservative advocacy organizations even a broken clock gets the time right twice a day. Their accusations against Senator Heinrich are troubling, to say the least," Tom Wakely said.

The Senate Ethics Rules clearly state that every Senator must always endeavor to avoid the appearance that they may be unduly influenced by campaign contributions. "I think it is very important that Senator Heinrich's alleged pay to play scheme be investigated by The Senate's Select Committee on Ethics. With the latest Gallup poll showing that only 16% of the country approves the way Congress is doing its job, it seems to me the Democrats would be falling over each other to get those number up. Especially with Heinrich's friend and colleague, Senator Robert Mendez under federal indictment. But alas, I seriously doubt that is going to happen," said Wakely.
