Urgent: U.S. Military Attack on Venezuela

-
We Must Stand Up Against US Imperialism and Endless War
We are writing with urgency and deep concern about recent events unfolding in Venezuela, where the United States has escalated military action in a dramatic and dangerous way.
In the early hours of January 3, powerful explosions and loud noises were reported throughout Caracas and surrounding areas. In a statement, President Donald Trump claimed that the U.S. carried out a “large-scale military strike” on Venezuelan territory and that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife have been captured and flown out of the country.
This attack is an egregious violation of human rights as well as US and international law. These developments mark an unprecedented escalation, the most significant intervention in Latin America since the 1989 invasion of Panama.
As a party that is committed to people, planet, and peace, we must raise our voices in solidarity with the Venezuelan people and demand an end to U.S. imperial aggression. Join the Maine Green Independent Party and other leftists for an emergency action to protest the outrageous attacks on Venezuela. We will gather TODAY at 2 PM ET at Longfellow Square in Portland.
We condemn the US abduction of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. We condemn the US regime's extrajudicial killing of 115 people in 35 targeted attacks on boats off the coast of Venezuela. We condemn US acts of international piracy and the seizure of Venezuela's oil tankers.
The way the US is aggressing is an outrage. These acts are a threat to us all. And we cannot, we will not, tolerate these injuries.
It is time for us all to mobilize and stand against acts of destruction and annihilation.
