Recruiting Candidates
Tuesday, February 12, 9 PM Eastern
One of the biggest challenges for local Green Party organizations is recruiting candidates. At this point in the election cycle, the topic should be foremost on our minds.
How can you recruit quality candidates? It’s hard to find someone who is willing to run for office. It takes a lot of conviction to campaign, win and follow that up with successful administration. What are qualities of a strong candidate? How can we work with developing candidates to increase their knowledge and skills?
Join us to discuss this and more! We'll cover topics such as:
- Internal vs. External recruiting — this is a topic of debate for some states. Do you recruit candidates from outside of the party? Do you develop candidates from within? We will discuss pros and cons of both approaches.
- Recruitment targeting —who are some of the key demographics you might approach? What motivates potential candidates to run? How do you make a recruitment ask? How do you help candidates see the value in running for office?
Join members of the Coordinated Campaign Committee for an instructional, informative webinar targeted at state and local leaders, especially those who are interested in learning more about candidate recruitment. State and Local Co-chairs and Election Coordinators are highly encouraged to attend and participate in the discussion. After the webinar, you will be able to share the recording with those closest to the recruiting process in your state/local area.
Please share this info with your state and local listservs and social media.
