Elections. Jobs. Ecosocialism.
Here are some updates from the Green Party's Youth Caucus!
🌻FEBRUARY 2018 YOUTH CAUCUS ELECTIONS🌻
Our elections for some caucus leadership positions are underway! One chair, one national delegate, the alternate delegate, Media Chair, Finance Chair, and Education Chair positions are all up for election!
Go to ygus.org/ballot for instructions on how to complete and submit your ballot.
Voting ends on February 28 at 11:59pm Eastern.
Only caucus members are eligible to vote. Pay your $5 caucus dues at ygus.org/dues.
🌻YOUNG GREENS AT YDSA CONFERENCE🌻
On the weekend of February 16-18, a group of Young Greens traveled to Washington, DC to table at the conference of the Young Democratic Socialists of America. There was a lot of talk amongst the Young DSA members on the need to electoral independence. Many said they vote Green when they can and supported the Stein/Baraka campaign in 2016. We got a couple dozen sign-ups from their membership who are interested in learning more about also joining the Young Greens!
Some of the caucus leadership who attended also spend long evenings laying out the caucus strategic plan in more detail! We are excited to continue our outreach and solidify our infrastructure.
🌻LAUNCH OF CAUCUS JOB BOARD🌻
We are a caucus of workers actively trying to transform the party and our society, not simply a young social club. Therefore, we wanted to provide our membership clear opportunities on how they can help -- whether in areas they have expertise or areas they want to develop. Please see the Job Board on our Basecamp organizing tool. Not on Basecamp? Pay your caucus dues here to gain access. Even if you are an elder Green (aka a "Young Green at Heart"), if you have particular skills or ways you want to help build Youth power, please let us know by emailing us!
