We're four weeks out from the Maine Green Independent Party’s 2026 Annual Convention, and we're excited to announce our first speaker.

Lisa Savage, 2020 US Senate candidate, blogger and activist, will be speaking about the impacts of US Militarism on people and planet. Lisa is a long-time anti-war activist and Green who has been blogging for 20 years on US militarism, imperialism, and politics.

In addition to her blog and other communications work, Lisa and others have been organizing a monthly anti-war stand that has been demonstrating around the state since 2022. Join us on Saturday, May 30th at the Belfast Public Library! This is a welcoming and accessible venue right in the heart of beautiful Belfast, Maine. It’s a perfect location for a powerful day of community, strategy, and grassroots organizing.

If you haven’t already, be sure to grab your early bird registration and secure your spot today. Speakers and special guests will be announced soon. We’re putting together an inspiring program and you won’t want to miss what’s coming.

The annual convention is a unique opportunity to come together, build community, and strengthen the Green Party in Maine. During the convention, you'll hear from inspiring speakers who are doing incredible organizing work in Maine and around the country. Registered Green Party members are eligible to vote on convention decisions and elect party leadership.

As part of the convention process, members are invited to submit proposals to amend the party’s bylaws or platform. All proposals must be submitted by April 30th in order to be considered at the convention. If you are interested in submitting a proposal, please send an email to [email protected].
