Arizona Green Party e-newsletter, November 26, 2017
The Arizona Green Party (AZGP) is nearing the end of our Fall 2017 on-line fundraiser (ending Wednesday, November 29, 2017). We are asking all of our members to make a donation of $20.00 to support our important work. So far, 7 of our members have made donations. We would like to double that number before our fundraising deadline. For your donation, you will receive one of our new AZGP t-shirts! The t-shirts are a Green Grass color, made in the USA (by American Apparel), and are printed by Custom Ink (see photo below). Please support our on-line fundraiser.
We are currently recruiting Green Party candidates for the 2018 Elections. We would like to increase the number of endorsed, Green Party candidates for the 2018 Elections, with at least 30-35 candidates running for statewide office, U.S. Congress, and the Arizona State Legislature. We have increased the number of Green Party candidates that have officially announced from 3, to eight (8). The candidates are:
- Angel Torres, Governor
- Stuart Starky, Superintendent of Public Instruction
- Eve Reyes-Aguirre, U.S. Senate
- Ray Parrish, U.S. Congress, Congressional District 1
- Haryaksha Knauer, U.S. Congress, Congressional District 4
- John-Aaron Baumann, State Senator, Legislative District 1
- Matthew Daniel, State Representative, Legislative District 1
- Stephanie Snyder, State Representative, Legislative District 1
If you are interested in being a Green Party candidate in 2018, please visit our Contact Us page. We encourage women, youth, and people-of-color to run as Green Party candidates. Also, if you have not already done so, please sign the nominating petitions for our Green Party candidates. As you can see above, we have a full slate of Green Party candidates in Legislative District 1. This will be the first time we have accomplished this in any legislative district. Ideally, we will have at least one (1) endorsed, Green Party candidate in all thirty (30) legislative districts. We are in the process of updating our website with the current list of our 2018 Green Party candidates.
The next meeting of the Arizona Green Party (AZGP) will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 (9:30 am to 4:30 pm; location to be determined). The meeting location should be reserved within the next day or two. With over 7,000 registered Greens statewide, our goal is to have at least 1% of our members (70+) in attendance at our next meeting. We will be electing new AZGP Officers/State Committee members, endorsing Green Party candidates, and lunch will be served. Please mark your calendars/day planners, and make plans to join us on Saturday, January 27, 2018.
The next meeting of the Green Party of Pima County (GPPC) will be Tuesday, December 5, 2017 (7:00pm to 8:30pm) at the Historic Y (Conference Room, 738 N. 5th Avenue, Tucson AZ 85705. GPPC meets the first Tuesday of every month. Please visit the Calendar page of our website for our updated meeting schedule.
That's all for now. Please make a donation below and receive one of our new AZGP t-shirts. Hasta pronto!
