Cancel the World Cup Immediately -- Follow the wisdom seen in the closure of the Strait of Hormuz

Rev. Seth Kaper-Dale was the Green Party of New Jersey 2017 gubernatorial candidate
About 1 mile away from Delaney Hall, an internment camp, where we unjustly trap people, and then ship them off like packages, but not before 'labor trafficking them' for $1 a day wages washing, cooking, cleaning their own internment camp--we are ready to play soccer!
While the detained victims of U.S.A labor trafficking (mostly who were proverbially 'trafficked to here', from their homes, because of the way we trashed their nation's lands, btw) are on a hunger strike, and while supporters are being beaten to a pulp by ICE soldiers--we talk soccer! More airtime goes to the frustrating price of transit tickets to get to the stadium than there is airtime to talk about the brutal beatings occurring by ICE. A couple of days ago a PhD Nurse, Highland Park's very own Dr. Bowe, got brutally taken down and just avoided serious injuries. The same day a wonderful part of our community, named Cassie, was shot in the face with a pepper spray ball/bullet that exploded on her face (only to hear DHS say, on the news, that 'no civilians were hit by those pepper spray bullets' even though she was down for a couple of hours because of it. We are minutes away, friends from a NJ Alex Pretti or Renee Good.
When are we going to follow IRAN's lead, and do the unthinkable--disrupt the sick economic engine that drives the violence in this nation. When are we going to 'pull a Strait of Hormuz' and boycott the games? When are we going to say we don't want to host soccer teams whose nations are, just 1 mile down the road, attempting an economic boycott, by refusing to be the slave engine driving the billions of dollars contract for the for-profit hell holes of immigrant detention all around this country?
I love sports. I love a world where sports can be enjoyed. I do not love a world where the current sickest Capitalist Fascist Dictator (1 of 2, I would say) on the planet gets to kiss his trophy while the smell of burning, damaged, hungry, human flesh is rising from Internment camp 1 mile away.
This is not a season for expensive capitalist joy (FIFA).
peace,
seth
