Presidential Election Results

The 2024 Green Party ticket of Jill Stein and Butch Ware received the second highest presidential general election write-in total in any state in U.S. history. The New York State Board of Elections released the official vote from the November election, including the write-in vote for declared write-in presidential candidates. The only candidate with a higher total was independent candidate Eugene McCarthy in California in 1976, who received 58,412. Also, team Stein/Ware finished third in the national presidential election, behind the Democrat and Republican candidates, placing above the Libertarians and other parties.

Talk on Abortion Stories

The Green Party of Nassau County's March 17th meeting will feature speaker Dr. Karen Weingarten, editor of the new book Abortion Stories: American Literature Before Roe v. Wade, which will be published on March 4 by Penguin Classics. Karen is a Professor of English at Queens College, SUNY. She earned a PhD in English and a Certificate in Women's Studies from CUNY in 2009.

The meeting will be held at Freeport Memorial Library in Freeport, NY, on Monday, March 17, beginning at 7:30 PM. This will be a hybrid in-person/Zoom meeting; write to [email protected] to request the link. All registered Greens and allies are welcome.
