The increasing use of military tactics and forces within the United States is closely connected to decades of militarized foreign policy. Military practices developed and normalized overseas, including armed intervention, occupation, and counterinsurgency, are increasingly reflected at home in immigration enforcement, the policing of protests, and expanded domestic security operations.

Justice, peace and prosperity seem out of reach to most of us. We all know the problem has something to do with our economic system, but most do not realize that the root problem with the entire system is money, specifically the 300-year-old monetary system we have. We don't know this because our schools don't teach it.

• The EcoAction Committee held a webinar on Nuclear is a False Climate Solution on Monday, July 14.

Nuclear power is pushing for a big revival both is the US and worldwide, partially on the false premise that it is carbon free – ignoring its carbon footprint from the construction of the plants (cement); the mining, processing, and transportation of its uranium fuel; and the hundreds of thousands of years to store it deadly radioactive waste. It takes so long to build that it cannot come on line fast enough to prevent breaching the 1.5 C (or even 2 C target). It is also by far the most expensive form of electricity. There are also safety and environmental health problems with nuclear power.

On Monday, June 2 the Green Party of New York presented a discussion with Asher Ross, Senior Strategist with New York Immigrant Action. 

Returning from Masafer Yatta, Bob Suberi (Green Party of St. Louis, Center for Jewish Non-Violence) describes his experience documenting settler and institutional violence over the past 5 years and specifically since Oct. 7.

We discussed the wider context of Palestinian displacement and disenfranchisement. Steve Tamari (St. Louis Palestine Solidarity Committee) will provide an historic background of the West Bank. Michael Berg (Jewish Voice for Peace) will cover Zionist support for the ethnic cleansing. Zaki Baruti (Universal African Peoples Organization) will describe global patterns of imperialism.
