I am a federal employee in Ogden Utah. I have a lot of backlogged bills and am receiving foreclosure notices. Although the shutdown was not the cause of some of my financial issues, it is making it difficult for me to consider financial options. I am the primary bread winner in my home so removing my income creates multiple struggles. I am having to ask family members and friends for money.

I am also concerned about my co-workers and federal contractors as well as local businesses in my area. The Federal Government is one of the larger employers in my area. Federal contractors will not receive back pay the way federal employees will. Local businesses are hurting too because none of the federal employees are shopping or going to lunch anymore. I know of one business that has cut its hours of operation because of this.

I just want to go back to work, I wish I could just give myself to my Green Party Work, but unfortunately that cannot pay my bills or ensure I have a home, food, and a vehicle.

I do not want a wall. I believe we should all be able to travel from country to country without borders.
