Watch: Do Black Lives Matter Yet? Black Lives Matter Day Vigil & Strategy Session

On Black Lives Matter Day, the National Black Caucus of the Green Party of the United States gathered for a powerful online vigil and strategy session, "Do Black Lives Matter Yet? Continuing the Fight for Reparations." We named the frustration of one step forward and two steps back: from civil rights victories to mass incarceration, from symbolic diversity to blocked reparations: and asked what it will take to finally move beyond survival to true repair and self-determination. Together, we traced the through-line from the commodification of Black bodies under slavery to today's systems of state terror: police violence, prisons, human trafficking, and elite predation exposed in networks like Epstein's.
We confronted how the two-party duopoly, especially the Democratic Party, has captured Black votes while strangling any real reparations movement: and explore concrete paths to get Black communities off their political plantation and into independent, liberation-focused power.
The session blends mourning and organizing: space to grieve our dead, honor survivors, and map strategies to abolish the carceral machine from womb to grave.
Join us to lift up reparations as a non-negotiable debt, build plans for local and national action, and connect with Greens and allies committed to ending state terror and making Black lives matter in policy and power.
