Cody Hannah's Statement on Governor's Veto of HB2570

I am deeply disappointed but sadly not surprised about Governor Hobbs' veto of HB2570, the "Arizona Starter Homes Act™." With her veto of this bill, Governor Katie Hobbs has shown that her allegiance lies with corporations, landlords, and wealthy NIMBYs over working class Arizonans and their families for whom affordable #housing is in short supply and economically unattainable. People and Planet will be first with Michael Dublin

I am Michael Dublin, husband, father, teacher and Green Party candidate for US House, District 2. Even if you are not in my district, I have an important message for you.  My opponent in District 2 is Deborah Ross. Although 70% of the residents of District 2 want a ceasefire in Palestine, Ross will not support such a resolution in Congress. This is because like most of Congress, she is afraid of AIPAC, the American-Israeli Political Action Committee. AIPAC should be registered as an agent of a foreign government, but gets away with its heavy-handed influence on elections because the US government won’t publicly identify the committee’s biases, which are detrimental to the people of the United States.  Continue reading

Kymone Freeman Announces Run for D.C. Delegate Norton’s Seat

Throughout her more than 30-year career as D.C.’s nonvoting delegate in the U.S. House of Representatives, Eleanor Holmes Norton (D) secured at least 75% of the primary and general election votes in her successful reelection bids. As Delegate Norton prepares for another electoral battle, there’s at least one District resident who’s focused on throwing what he describes as Norton’s “early retirement party.” Continue reading

The primary candidates who receive the highest and second-highest number of votes will advance to the general election in November. Will TX railroad commissioner candidates make natural gas companies more transparent?

The Jan. 8 explosion at the Sandman Signature Hotel in downtown Fort Worth left 21 injured — some critically with severe burns and traumatic brain injuries — and sparked questions into the safety and modernity of the city’s natural gas infrastructure. Gas distributor Atmos Energy announced in the days following the blast that its gas lines and equipment did not cause the explosion. Gas is believed to have been the likely cause of the explosion, according to Fort Worth officials, and several plaintiffs in lawsuits filed in its aftermath have said they smelled gas on the day of the explosion. Atmos has been named as a defendant in several of those lawsuits. Continue reading

Thanks to the Protesters who shut down Fayetteville Street

Hey Y'all! Michael Dublin here. I want to give big props to JVP and other protesters who shut down a Raleigh street in an effort to get the incumbent US Representative, Deborah Ross, to ask for a Congressional cease-fire resolution to stop the slaughter of Palestinians by Zionist Israeli Forces.
