Human Survival Hangs On Changing The Money System Now
Banking and Monetary Reform Committee
Rita Jacobs (she/her) and Howard Switzer (he/him)

Our monetary system is the root problem of nearly every issue. It increases the cost of everything and fuels the nation’s escalating debt. It adds to the cost of investment in schools, hospitals, and infrastructure. It inflates house prices, making them unaffordable for many hard-working people and the young. Most new money goes into speculation in commodities, like food, which further drives up prices, when there are already growing shortages resulting from climate change, the greed of big companies and waste. Reckless speculation by banks contributes to boom and bust in financial markets already built into the system which leads to enormous instability and regular financial crises. Huge short-term profits and excessively high salaries result in a brain drain into banking and financial services. Our economy is out of balance: too few people making things; over-dependence on the financial sector, all of which is unsustainable.

Learn how bankers gained control over multinational corporations, the government, the media, to the detriment of the people and the planet. Their present plans include gaining even more control. We will discuss strategies on how to challenge this system at local and national levels. We must act now to save people and the planet.

Disability myths/assumptions and political activist opportunities
Forming Disability Caucus
Dawnmarie Cronen (she/her/they) & Cynthya BrianKate (she/her/hers)

A Q & A section will encourage and explore ways to help create a better political safe space for everyone involved. This will include examples of how to work better together and reduce conflicts about disability myths/assumptions.

Moving Targets 2: How Social Justice Movements Get Derailed and Co-opted
National Black Party Caucus
Philena Farley, Dee Murphy, Gil Obler

In the follow up to last year’s presentation that highlighted the experiences of Black People in Leftist movements, we will examine a variety of incidents that have occurred in past and present Social Justice-Oriented Organizations that were geared at disrupting the unity and harmony of the Progress made through the use of Agent Provocateurs, Government Informants and other people sent by opposing organizations with the deliberate and calculated goal of causing disruption and chaos to the movement.

We will begin with a description of published/proven incidents of identified chaos agents and proceed to an open discussion with the audience surrounding their own experiences, followed by audience participant suggestions at how to navigate attempts at organizational disruption. The goal will not be to pinpoint people or cast aspersions or suspicion on individuals, but to aide Green Party Members in tools and skillsets needed to work around this historically proven and pretty much guaranteed phenomena in Leftist Organizations. The audience will brainstorm together for solutions and strategies to address it when it appears.

The Anatomy of the Blob: Exploring the Structure of the American Militarism Complex
Peace Action Committee
Haig Hovaness (he/his)

Since WW II, the U.S. Military-industrial complex, also known as the Washington "Blob," has secured vast funding and maintained control of U.S. foreign policy. The proposed presentation will examine in detail the components of the Blob, including Military, Industrial, Congressional, Intelligence, Media, Academic, and Think-Tank sectors.

Structural links among these components will be explained to provide a deeper understanding of this pernicious power group. Identifying key structural features will enable more effective remedial action by peace activists. The presentation concludes with recommendations for attacking the Blob through increased public awareness and targeted reform initiatives.

Screening of 2040: a film by Damon Game

Motivated by concerns about the planet his 4-year-old daughter would inherit, Damon embarked on a global journey to meet innovators and changemakers in the areas of economics, technology, civil society, agriculture, education and sustainability. Drawing on their expertise, he sought to identify the best solutions, available to us now, that would help improve the health of our planet and the societies that operate within it. From marine permaculture to decentralised renewable energy projects, he discovered that people all over the world are taking matters into their own hands.

This journey is the central premise for the documentary ‘2040’, a story of hope that looks at the very real possibility that humanity could reverse global warming and improve the lives of every living thing in the process. It is a positive vision of what ‘could be’, instead of the dystopian future we are so often presented.

Diversity, Intersectionality, Inclusion; a Conversation on Healing and Solidarity

Members of the Council of Caucuses will conduct a panel discussion of issues, barriers and conflicts facing the various caucuses, and how they are trying to build solidarity and support for each other.

The Council of Caucuses is made up of all the nationally accredited caucuses of the Green Party, (with the exception of the Young Eco Socialists), who meet monthly for an open discussion. It was formed as a result of the conversation that transpired during last year's Annual National Meeting "Diversity, Intersectionality, and Inclusion" workshop, sponsored by the Diversity Committee. Those participants, who represented diverse groups of people, recognized the value of finding our common humanity and maintaining communication, despite our differences.
