Inhumane Treatment of Immigrants

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), local police, and for-profit/private prison corporations such as GEO Group and CoreCivic have taken advantage of the increase in anti-immigrant legislation and created a symbiotic relationship. ICE’s mission, “To protect America from cross border crime and illegal immigration that threaten national security and public safety. This mission is executed through the enforcement of more than 400 federal statutes and focuses on immigration enforcement and combating transnational crime,” subscribes to the belief that every Latin American citizen is a criminal. Mass incarceration fuels the proliferation of for-profit prisons while for-profit prison corporations encourage policies that increase the number of people behind bars. With various states implementing anti-immigrant legislation, setting up detention centers has been an easy contractual agreement with the “incentive” that they must meet 80% to 100% fill capacity for payment. ICE reports they have paid $85,000 per incarcerated individual and a total of $807 million to 19 for-profit detention centers.

Racist policies must be abolished. Undocumented immigrants boost America’s economic growth and raise the general productivity of American workers by providing much-needed skills. Immigrant workers allow important sectors of the economy to expand, attract investment and create employment opportunities for native-born Americans, contribute more in tax revenue than they collect, reduce American firms’ incentives to offshore jobs and import foreign-produced goods, and benefit consumers by reducing the prices of goods and services. Economists estimate that legalization of the undocumented immigrant population would increase the immigrants’ earnings and consumption considerably, and increase U.S. gross domestic product.

The Green Party of Michigan condemns the murder of Alex Pretti by federal agents in Minneapolis. This was the inevitable result of actively encouraging an unwelcome, militarized force to act with absolute immunity in our communities. This is the third shooting by federal agents in Minnesota in less than three weeks. As long as ICE remains in neighborhoods where they are not welcome, the situation will continue to escalate.

The Green Party of Utah (GPUT) strongly condemns the Killings committed by Federal Employees during the month of January 2026, as well as the failure of the elected officials associated with both the Republican and Democratic Parties to put an end to the violent and inhumane violations of Constitutional Rights plainly evident to the Public.

ICE agents have just shot and killed a legal observer in Minneapolis. Our hearts go out to her family and the community she was protecting.

ICE has only brought chaos, fear, and now death to Minnesota, and they must leave immediately.

Workers at the Alba Wine and Spirits warehouse in Edison arrived Wednesday to a workplace on edge, a day after federal immigration agents conducted a surprise raid that led to multiple detentions.

On Tuesday, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents swarmed the warehouse, checking workers’ immigration status, witnesses said. Those who could verify their status were issued wristbands. Others who lacked valid identification were zip-tied and placed in vans for transport.

The Nevada Green Party strongly condemns the actions of the Trump administration, in seizing control of the National Guard, in response to Constitutionally protected protests against the actions of ICE in recent months, against law abiding residents of this country.

We’re writing to you today with deep concern and urgent resolve.

Over the past several days, violent and militarized raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have terrorized communities across California—in Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco. These were not ordinary enforcement actions. They were coordinated acts of state-sponsored intimidation, ordered by the Trump administration, designed to sow fear in working-class neighborhoods.

I’m going to tell you something you won’t hear from a single other candidate in this race, maybe not from any politician in America

While the pundits whimper about “decorum” and the political class hides behind words like “de-escalation,” the real answer is simple…

On Friday we shared an incredible story from San Diego: a neighborhood stood up to ICE and drove them out with nothing but courage and community.

But now, just days later, ICE is ramping up in Los Angeles and countless Angelenos are caught in the crossfire.

The Latinx Caucus of the Green Party of the United States strongly condemns the recent violent and militarized Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids that terrorized neighborhoods across California, including Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco.

Mahmoud Khalil, a lawful permanent resident, recent graduate, and husband to a U.S. citizen who is eight months pregnant with their child, was dragged away from his Columbia University home by ICE this weekend at the behest of the White House.

His "crime"? Protesting genocide in Gaza.
