Greens Say No To War With Iran: Latest Updates

  • The Green Party of California condemns the assassination of the Iranian religious leaders by the U.S. and Israel

March 6, 2026 – The Green Party of California rises in solidarity with the Iranian people with our respect for their sovereignty and their right to self determination and to be free of war, intervention and occupation by the U.S. or any other foreign government.

We categorically condemn the military attacks by Israel and the U.S. on Iran and the assassination of the Iranian religious leader, Ayatollah Khamenei.

RALEIGH, NC –  The North Carolina Green Party (NCGP) salutes its U.S. Senate candidate, Marine Corps veteran Brian McGinnis, for speaking the truth powerfully at the Senate Armed Services subcommittee hearing on March 4th. McGinnis said, “America does not want to send its sons and daughters to war for Israel."

His words represent the views of the majority of Americans who reject this war. According to a recent CNN poll, 59% of Americans disapprove of the US strikes on Iran.

  • Calls for military boycott against rogue state

  • Statement from the Co-Chairs of the Green-Rainbow Party on Israel's Attack on Iran

We condemn Israel's unprovoked, criminal attack on Iran. Over 200 Iranians have already been killed by Israel's campaign of terror bombing. The images from Tehran are heartbreaking and reveal a war that is not being conducted against a government or a military but against an entire nation and its people.

PITTSBURGH – Despite the cold and the rain a 100-person strong rally was held in the East Liberty neighborhood of Pittsburgh to protest against a war in Iran and U.S. occupation throughout the Middle East. The demonstration drew a wide range of people with long-time activists and newcomers to the anti-war movement alike.

ST. LOUIS – The US assassination of Iran's top general Qassem Soleimani has brought the world to the brink of another war in the Middle East. Join the Gateway Green Alliance and the Universal African Peoples Organization for a discussion of the historical roots and contemporary regional context of what could end up as another US military intervention in the region.

PHILADELPHIA – On the second new moon after the winter solstice, Saturday January 25 the outgoing yin year of earth pig (己亥,  jǐ hài) begets the yang year of metal rat (庚子  gēng zǐ). This transition is the beginning of the fourth 12 year zodiac cycle of the sexagenary lunar calendar. The last year of yang metal rat was in 1960.

The Green Party of Philadelphia (GPOP) will mark the new year with a protest against saber rattling and provocations toward war with Iran. The noon rally at Dilworth Plaza on the West side of City Hall is among hundreds of local actions called for the 25th by CodePink, United National Antiwar Coalition, the Green Party of Pennsylvania, and dozens of other peace organizations.

  • The world has gotten a look into the abyss, and doesn’t like what it saw staring back

BOYNTON BEACH, FL – As Iran’s General Qassem Suleimani was arriving on a mission of peace — having been invited to Iraq to help mediate relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia — he was brutally ambushed by an American drone on his way from the Baghdad Airport.  A leader of Iraq’s own anti-ISIS militias was killed in the same blast.

MADISON, Wi. – At least 100 people gathered at the Wisconsin State Capitol this weekend to protest what they perceive to be an escalation into war with Iran. Last Friday, President Donald Trump ordered an airstrike to kill Iranian General Qassem Soleimani.

Nine groups who helped organize Saturday’s strike against the assassination characterized the President’s actions as “illegal,” but speakers at the protest also took aim at the United States’ military complex.

SAN FRANCISCO – The Green Party of California condemns the hostile military action by the United States’ administration in recently assassinating military leaders of Iran and Iraq.

Such acts violating international law, as well as other provocations and threats against sovereign nations, will lead to more endless wars and devastation in the Middle East and the entire world, while endangering our military personnel who are being needlessly deployed as war fodder for misguided and failed foreign policies.
