Israel-Palestine

From our Platform

Our Green values oblige us to support popular movements for peace and demilitarization in Israel-Palestine, especially those that reach across the lines of conflict to engage both Palestinians and Israelis of good will.

We support the implementation of boycott and divestment initiatives against Israel similar to those applied to South Africa in the apartheid era, which includes pressuring our government to impose embargoes and sanctions against Israel; and we support maintaining these nonviolent punitive measures until Israel meets its obligation to recognize the Palestinian people's inalienable right to self-determination and fully complies with the precepts of international law by

  • Ending its occupation and colonization of all Palestinian lands and dismantling the Wall in the West Bank
  • Recognizing the fundamental rights of Palestinian citizens of Israel to full equality; and
  • Respecting, protecting and promoting the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties as stipulated in UN resolution 194.

We support a U.S. foreign policy that promotes the creation of one secular, democratic state for Palestinians and Israelis on the land between the Mediterranean Sea and the River Jordan as the national home of both peoples, with Jerusalem as its capital.

My name is Peter LaVenia, and I am the co-chair of the Green Party of New York. I'm here with the rest of you to call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the end of the ongoing genocide being conducted against the Palestinian people!

What the United States is doing is shocking to many because we live in an era when images and video can be shared immediately. But it is also surprising because for most in the United States, we do not learn that it has always been this government's policy to back its client states when they conduct wholesale murder against an entire population.

The Green Party Peace Action Committee (GPAX) urges that the party participate in the wave of worldwide mass protests against the US-Israeli slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza and elsewhere.

Our main concern is US military and diplomatic participation in the war and in the criminal siege and bombardment that have already killed thousands in Gaza, wounded tens of thousands, and left a million homeless.

STOP THE GENOCIDE!

  • "You reap what you sow" ~ proverb from Hebrew Bible’s Book of Hosea

Bronx Green Party expresses our deepest sympathy for all the innocent lives lost in the latest military conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians. We cannot in good conscience blame the ultimate victims of this conflict, the Palestinian people. The latest violence is decisively the fault of Israel and its enabler, the United States.

Many of us, including most working on this campaign, are embroiled in heated debate over the situation in Gaza. This campaign advocates that, regardless of our differences, we should all agree that the killing of civilians must come to an immediate end. Further, we should work in unity to pressure our own government to use its power to enact a ceasefire and an end to all forms of collective punishment.

This is the Q&A forum I did with Jason Call, Green candidate for WA02, covering the current Palestine/Israel fight, its long-term context, and what we can do to find a lasting peace.

Join fellow Philly Greens at a rally for Gaza this Saturday, October 21.  Greens will meet at 5:00 p.m. at Levy Park, the NW corner of 16th and Arch in Philadelphia.  We will walk from there to the rally at City Hall.  Look out for others being seen being Green; let's march together!

As Green Party candidates and activists, we have a role as an opposition party to educate ourselves and our communities on issues related to Islamophobia, racism, sexism and gender-identity and to prioritize work to support the struggles of the most vulnerable and marginalized in our communities. We must make an active contribution to the work of defending the human rights of our neighbors. We can build enduring alliances by engaging with the political crisis now present in this country.

The Baltimore City Green Party has published its nomination process for local candidates in 2024 elections, including Mayor and City Council. In addition, the Maryland Green Party has published its nomination process for federal candidates in 2024 elections, including the U.S. Senate and all Maryland U.S. House races, which includes the 7th and 2nd Districts within Baltimore City.

The Green Party of the United States condemns the targeted attacks on civilians in the recent wave of violence in Gaza and Israel. We call for an immediate ceasefire, an immediate end to the invasion and occupation of Gaza, and a halt to all military and foreign aid to Israel. We urge our government to join with the U.N. to secure Israel's complete withdrawal to, at least, the 1967 boundaries in compliance with international law.
