Israel-Palestine

From our Platform

Our Green values oblige us to support popular movements for peace and demilitarization in Israel-Palestine, especially those that reach across the lines of conflict to engage both Palestinians and Israelis of good will.

We support the implementation of boycott and divestment initiatives against Israel similar to those applied to South Africa in the apartheid era, which includes pressuring our government to impose embargoes and sanctions against Israel; and we support maintaining these nonviolent punitive measures until Israel meets its obligation to recognize the Palestinian people's inalienable right to self-determination and fully complies with the precepts of international law by

  • Ending its occupation and colonization of all Palestinian lands and dismantling the Wall in the West Bank
  • Recognizing the fundamental rights of Palestinian citizens of Israel to full equality; and
  • Respecting, protecting and promoting the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties as stipulated in UN resolution 194.

We support a U.S. foreign policy that promotes the creation of one secular, democratic state for Palestinians and Israelis on the land between the Mediterranean Sea and the River Jordan as the national home of both peoples, with Jerusalem as its capital.

Greens alarmed by proposed "Jewish State" bill to intensify Israeli apartheid

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Green Party leaders today expressed solidarity for Palestinian hunger strikers in their demand for improved prison conditions and treatment during their incarceration, including visitation rights.

In New Jersey, Greens participated in the "Salt Water Challenge" announced by Aarab Barghouti, son of Palestinian political prisoner Marwan Barghouti, in solidarity with the Dignity Strike prisoners.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Green Party's Coordinated Campaign Committee has released a briefing paper titled "Islamophobia: Another Social Construction of Racism". The paper is a guide for use by Green candidates and activists.

"We are very pleased indeed to offer this new tool for Green Party candidates and activists," said Hillary Kane, co-chair of the committee. "We want to help Green Party activists be effective organizers in resistance to the frightening Islamophobic rhetoric and policies coming from the current administration."

The Tarrant County Green Party has joined the Black Lives Matter Movement in mutual support and coalition to strengthen the movement to stop oppressive actions of police brutality in the U.S and other countries internationally. The brutality of U.S. police officers toward African-Americans is intolerable. As activists realize that the same systems of oppression killing them in the United States are active worldwide, the movement spreads beyond American borders. Non-violent activists from Ferguson, Missouri, traveled to Palestine in 2015 to cement a growing sense of solidarity and connection with the shared struggles of Palestinians against the Israeli occupation.
