Together, we can take our city government back from corrupt private interests.

My name is Samantha Pree-Stinson. I am you and you are me. I am a working class mother and small business owner. I believe in the power of community.

We have challenges and hard truths to face, including that our city suffers from some of the worst disparities in the nation. We all suffer from harsh realities including the effects of COVID, violence in our communities, food insecurity, challenges for our students, keeping our entrepreneurs and small businesses alive, and fair wages.

Kearni Warren was born in Chester and was raised in the Ruth L. Bennett Homes. She is an activist, author, healthcare advocate, speaker, caregiver, and humanitarian. Kearni has seen first-hand the value of hard work and achieving the impossible through difficulty…

"Change will not happen if the people remain silent and still. We must fight for our children and their right to receive a quality education and to be guided by appropriate leaders who have our children's best interest in mind."

"I am grateful and honored to represent the people of ward 2. I love this work, and love the people of our ward and our city. In that spirit, I am running for reelection.

"This last year has been the hardest Minneapolis has seen in a long time. The murder of George Floyd, the unrest and destruction that tragedy ignited, the pandemic and economic recession it caused, the ongoing housing crisis.

"We humans are putting so much carbon in the atmosphere that it’s causing the entire planet to warm up. The consequences for our low-lying city, and for all of southern Louisiana, are already being felt. The climate crisis must be at the forefront of our civic dialog and action. We have to deal with the problems we’re currently experiencing, such as increased flooding, while at the same time we must take bold action to stop global warming. We have to stop putting so much carbon in the air. In short, we have to change our way of living.

"I envision a Hawthorne in which we can unite as a community and welcome all that come to reside here. A thriving neighborhood with a robust small business based local economy. A town that offers a different feel than those around us with more arts and creativity. Even more green spaces, improving our infrastructure and working to preserve the environment for the future we deserve.

"I am an independent. I'm a very firm supporter of populist ideas such as Medicare for All, a Green New Deal and Universal Basic Income. I am running as a Green candidate to revive its platform after Gov. Cuomo passed legislation last year to destroy 3rd party ballot access in NY. Ultimately, our mission is to build a path forward for Ranked-Choice Voting in ALL elections - not just the Democrat or Republican primaries.

"I support extinguishing poverty and giving workers a stake of ownership in large corporations. I support eliminating wealth and income inequality without taxing the working class."
