I am in Ohio! I had the opportunity of a lifetime to attend the 2024 Ohio Green Party State Forum yesterday. We finally got to meet offline with other Young Greens of Ohio. I had the chance to speak to Ohio Greens. The Green Party is the party of hope.
From the polar ice caps to the rainforests of South America, the world in which we live is on fire. Scientists say we now have less than ten years to halt our collision course with climate catastrophe. This emergency requires us to rise up and do our best. This may be our now, but it does not have to be our future.

Smog Blankets Northwest Indiana from "Critical Incident" at BP Refinery
So far in 2024 there has been three critical incidents at the BP Whiting refinery in Northwest Indiana. This facility along Lake Michigan is the 6th largest refinery in the US and one of the largest refiners of tar sands crude. There has been two leaks from the refinery in January and then on February 1st a total power failure forced the evacuation of the plant and the emergency burning of all 5 flare stacks. Billows of smog poured over Northwest Indiana and local residents are left dealing with the long term affects of the air pollution in their communities.

Statement on Kyrsten Sinema's Retirement from the U.S. Senate from AZGP Co-Chair Cody Hannah
Goodbye and good riddance to Senator Kyrsten Sinema, who today announced her retirement from the U.S. Senate at the end of her current term.
From the minute Sinema abandoned the Green Party for the Democrats, she started down a path of corruption and corporatism from which she never looked back. Unfortunately, even after leaving the Democratic Party, she was no better a legislator or less corrupt in the Senate as an Independent.
