2016 Green Party Candidate, Ajamu Baraka will speak in Denver  The 50th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is on April 4, and the Colorado Green Party is very honored to commemorate that moment in human rights struggle history with Ajamu Baraka, the 2016 Green Party vice presidential candidate and long-time human rights activist. He is now the national organizer for the Black Alliance for Peace. This event will be a reflection on the 50th Anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and why people, peace, planet over profit is still an elusive dream. Continue reading

BLM Consideration of Oil and Gas Lease Sales in Colorado are Shortsighted, Dangerous

The Green Party of Colorado (GPCO) expresses its opposition to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) proposals of federal oil and gas lease sales on Sept. 6, 2018 of approximately 22,175 acres of land in Huerfano, Kiowa, Lincoln, Washington, Weld and Baca Counties, Colorado. Green Party key values of ecological wisdom, future focus and sustainability inform our recognition that these proposals are shortsighted and misguided. "The BLM is couching this leasing in terms of "the Administration's priority to make America safe through energy independence," and supporting jobs, but in reality this is an attempt to create short term capital at the long term expense of the climate and local environment," said Andy Hamilton, chair of the Mesa County Green Party in Grand Junction. "A transition to renewable energy sources would better address the real needs of the working class." Continue reading

Upper Hudson Greens to meet on Tuesday, March 27

Albany, NY – The monthly meeting of the Upper Hudson Green Party is scheduled for this Tuesday, March 27th, in the Large Auditorium of the Main Branch of the Albany Public Library on Washington Avenue next to the Armory. On Tuesday, March 20th Green candidate Christine Elms was elected to the South Glens Falls, NY Village Board of Trustees. Christine is the first woman and first Green elected in the village. Details to follow.

Portland Green Party Event: Local Candidate Straw Poll The Portland Green Party is hosting its first major event of the year, inviting Pacific Green Party voters and supporters to attend a local straw poll on choices in the upcoming May elections for local and county seats. The event is free and open to anyone interested in Green politics. If time allows, we will also talk about upcoming state and federal elections.
