A Statement on the Mass Shootings in Buffalo, NY and Uvalde, TX from the Green Party of New York State The Green Party of the United States was shocked and appalled by the mass shootings that took place at Tops Friendly Market in Buffalo, New York on May 14th and at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas on May 24th, and the Greens of New York and Texas were the most heartbroken of all. Our sympathies remain with the families of the 31 men, women and children who were killed in those unbelievable crimes, as well as the 20 injured survivors. Continue reading

NEW MARTINSVILLE, WV – This MLK Day, conservatives and liberals everywhere will sing the praises of America's most notorious civil rights leader while at the same time completely ignoring Dr. King's strong adherence to democratic socialism which stemmed from his Christian faith. The christo-fascists in the GOP will be especially susceptible to this hypocrisy, posting MLK quotes about love and equality while at the same time pushing through legislation which aims to harm LGBTQ+ communities and pregnant people in the name of Christian values. Missouri Green Party kicks off 2024 ballot access campaign

ST. LOUIS – Last year, the Missouri Green Party turned in over 10,000 signatures to the Secretary of State’s office to regain statewide ballot access,but fell just short of achieving that goal. Undeterred and now informed with lessons learned from the 2022 campaign, the Green Party is poised to bring back to Missourians candidates who will represent them as opposed to wealthy donors. Volunteers have until July 2024 to submit enough signatures to qualify to run Green Party candidates statewide. Continue reading

Green Party Will Solve Hunger in Pennsylvania

PHILADELPHIA – The Green Party of Pennsylvania (GPPA) meeting in Harrisburg on June 11, 2022, decided by consensus to find solutions for bread and butter issues. One important issue is food insecurity, defined as inadequate caloric intake or access to the proper food. More than ten percent of the U.S. is experiencing food insecurity. People of color are twice as likely to have issues with food. The numbers in 2019 were: Blacks - 19.1%, Hispanic – 15.6%, and Whites – 7.9%. Looking at education, neighbors with no high school diploma were at 27%. Continue reading

Green Party releases its progressive agenda ahead of Hochul’s state of the state

ALBANY, NY – The Green Party of New York released its progressive agenda for 2023, including ballot access reform to restore third party political rights, enacting Ranked Choice Voting and proportional representation, passing single-payer universal healthcare, and needed housing reforms including rent control, constructing a million units of publicly owned social housing, and good-cause eviction. The party argued  for immediate action on climate change, and said that taxing the rich, including collecting the Stock Transfer Tax, would help pay for needed reforms and social program expansion including reinvestment in impacted communities.
