Nassau County Green Party Meeting

The next meeting of the Nassau County Green Party is scheduled for Monday, September18, 2023, 7:30 PM at the Freeport Memorial Library (144 W.Merrick Avenue, Freeport, NY, 11520), and on Zoom. The meeting will be a hybrid meeting, to accommodate those unable to attend in person. On Sunday, September 17, the Green Parties of the United States, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut along with the EcoAction Committee of the Green Party and the Young Ecosocialists will join climate activists from around the country to demand the end of fossil fuels. Climate change protest at Citibank today in NYC

At least a dozen climate protestors were arrested on Thursday morning after hundreds of activists shut down the headquarters of Citibank, which has provided $333 billion in funding to fossil fuel projects since the Paris climate agreement took effect. We start off with several minutes of the sounds from the protests, followed by comments by protestors Ted Glick, Laura Wolfson, Eco of the Green Worker Alliance, and an activist who traveled to Phoenix for the protest. At their General Membership Meeting on June 27, the Green Party of Philadelphia decided by consensus to join the Philadelphia Rent Control Coalition.
