Global Greens meet in Liverpool #Greens2017
The fourth Global Greens Congress was held in Liverpool, England March 30-April 2 -- jointly with the Congresses of the European Green Party, the Green Party of England and Wales and the Global Young Greens - bringing together approximately 2,000 Greens from over 100 countries, including more than a dozen U.S. Greens. Although the decision to hold the Congress in the United Kingdom was made years ago, the timing was prescient following last year's 'Brexit' vote by UK citizens to leave the European Union, and the challenges presented by right-wing populism and nationalism around the globe, including the election of Donald Trump as President of the U.S."What should be the Green response to such challenges" was a theme that ran throughout many of the Congress workshops and plenary sessions.

MacAllen Peace and Justice Conference
A report from the 12th Annual People for Peace and Justice GatheringBy Adrián Boutureira, National Political Organizer of the Green Party of the United States

At that time, and given its geographic, economic and demographic special political conditions, the Texas Valley had been given top organizing priority. I still believe that securing a GP political presence in the region is a high-value objective, not just for the Green Party of Texas, but to the Green Party as well.

Local Michigan parks commission passed a resolution opposing Nexus pipeline
The Ypsilanti, Michigan Township Park Commission passed a resolution on April 3 opposing the construction of the Nexus natural gas pipeline through Michigan
The Nexus pipeline is being constructed by Enbridge, Inc., a Canadian corporation. The pipeline will be used to distribute natural gas from the Appalachians to Ohio, Michigan, Illinois and Ontario. Natural gas would be supplied by fracking in the Appalachians, a process that will destroy sensitive natural areas. The majority of fracked gas will be going to Canada, and the pipeline has the potential to irreversibly destroy waterways that feed directly into the Great Lakes.
