The Nevada Green Party has launched its party petition for the 2022 election. It needs 13,557 signatures. If it can get the job done before January 1, 2022, the old law will be in effect. The old law does not require a distribution requirement.

Amicus Brief filed in U.S. Supreme Court in Case over Exclusion of Minor Parties from Ohio Election Commission
On September 15, the Coalition for Free & Open Elections (COFOE), and the Green Party, the Constitution Party, and the national committee of the Libertarian Party filed this amicus curiae brief in the U.S. Supreme Court in Libertarian Party of Ohio v Crites, 21-226. This is the case over the composition of the Ohio Elections Commission.
Ohio law says it must have three members of each of the two largest parties, and one member who is not a member of any party. Thus a minor party member can never serve on the commission.

The North Carolina Green Party remembers the tragedy of 9/11/2001 and the subsequent two decades of endless wars in the following editorial by member and veteran Matthew Hoh. This has been edited from the original publication.
Many have seen a video this week of a young Marine in Kabul tenderly giving water to an Afghan child. It makes me think of what might have been these last 20 years. In contrast with that Marine's act of compassion with the institutional actions of violence, greed and self-interest that, so far, have defined the American 21st century.
What if rather than revenge, profit, and political opportunism, we as a nation had chosen restraint, wisdom, and compassion? While many Americans can honestly say the terror attacks of 9/11 took them by surprise, it is hard to argue they were without cause.

New London Green Party announces candidates for office
NEW LONDON, CT — The New London Green Party has announced three candidates for local office in the upcoming election, a group that includes prominent city activist Kris Wraight.
Wraight is joined by City Council candidate Eddie Long, a member of the New London Arts Council and co-chairman of Public Art for Racial Justice Education, or PARJE. William Keith Kimball, an accountant and public education advocate who has an elementary school-aged daughter, is seeking a spot on the Board of Education.

The False Promise of Carbon Capture, Public Power, and the Green New Deal
ALBANY, NY – Starting at 12:15 p.m. today on the corner of Washington Ave. and Dove St. citizens will protest the late and slow legislative process that is addressing climate collapse. The protesters will stand with signs and voice concerns about Congressmember Tonko’s CLEAN Future Act. This bill defines new fossil fuel infrastructure and waste incineration as ‘clean’ energy solutions. As long as we continue to pour megatons of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere then all the beneficial programs in the world won’t keep us from crossing the tipping point into irreversible climate breakdown. Congressmember Tonko is ignoring this fact and continues to operate at a gradual pace.
