I am Cassandra Martineau, a Co-Chair of the Green Party of Connecticut and Vice-Chair of the Windham Green Town Committee. If you've never heard of Windham (or Willimantic, one of our two "tax districts"), you should have. In 2021, seventeen Greens won election to local offices across the United States. Six of them were from Windham. In our town the Green Party is no longer a third party. We are the second party. Greens have the highest voter turnout percentage of any party in Windham. The North Carolina Green Party has received information that an organized Democratic Party group has the list of persons who signed the 2022 Green Party ballot access petition, and Democrats are phoning the signers and asking them to retract their signatures. It is too late for the Green Party to be adding any new signers. The counties have already checked the signatures and the Green Party has enough valid signatures. There is no provision in the North Carolina election code for signers to retract their signatures from a party petition. Continue reading

Clark County, NV — The Nevada Green Party urges people to join actions nationwide to protect and expand access to abortion services. We must stop the criminalization of abortions to permanently protect all people’s right to safe, legal, accessible, and confidential healthcare. Reproductive rights are non-negotiable! The Supreme Court decision attacks the reproductive rights of women, transgender people, and non-binary people. Lack of abortion access will also impact both parents who may be mandated to pay for child support of unwanted pregnancies. Continue reading

Some Takeaways from the June 2022 CA Primary The recent June 7 California primary was an important one for the Green Party of California. We were in danger of losing our ballot status if we didn’t get a 2% or greater share in at least one statewide race. Fortunately we were successful in crossing this threshold in several races.
