(Rochester, NY) -- Announced candidate for Rochester City Council, Dave Sutliff-Atias, posted on his website a proposal for legislation that would tie campaign contributions to the ability to do business with the City of Rochester. "At least two current elected officials in city government are being investigated by the Federal government," says Sutliff-Atias. "But there has always been the perception that business as usual at City Hall includes pay-to-play agreements between rich developers and elected officials. The Green Party has approved the mission statement for a new standing committee, the Banking and Monetary Reform Committee (BMRC).We are inviting state parties and caucuses to appoint new members to the committee. Members from at least 5 states or caucuses are required for the committee to be recognized formally as a standing committee. Continue reading

Usually the Green Party of Monroe County has its monthly meeting on the second Thursday of each month.  For this month we are bumping that a week to Thursday, December 20th.  Why?  So we can get together to watch the latest Michael Moore movie, Fahrenheit 11/9! From the Chair, Sheri Miller Accomplishments In this final Newsletter of 2018, I wanted to look back over the year and review our many accomplishments! Through the volunteer efforts of nearly 100 signature gatherers, we were able to get six candidates on the PA ballot. We also had a special election candidate and, after we received a request by voters in Congressional District 13 who wanted alternative choices on November 6, we were able to mount a write-in campaign.  Continue reading

Members of the Green Party of Pennsylvania (GPPA) were saddened by the recently released U.S. Census Bureau report showing persistent poverty across Pennsylvania. The data indicate that there were more than 1.5 million Pennsylvania citizens living in poverty over the past year. That's 12.5% of the population or 1 in 8 people. Continue reading

The South Central Michigan Greens local will hold its monthly meeting 1:00  – 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 15 at the downtown Jackson Coffee Company (201 South Mechanic Street in Jackson).
