I read a comment in Facebook recently that was a lament about all the protesting that’s been going on. The woman who wrote it felt that these public displays in the streets were disturbing and not the best way to change things. You can imagine the firestorm of comments that followed. I was actually glad this was posted, because the discussion that was generated prompted me to revisit my history as a woman and I developed a renewed gratitude for the courage and sacrifices of those historical women who brought about the freedoms I have today.

We also ask Wells Fargo - aka "Oily Wells" - to stop funding the worst environmental fossil fuel projects on the planet through a march from Palo Alto to San Francisco. Oil wars and oil wells are killing people and the planet. The Green Party's message of People, Planet, Peace Over Profit has never rung so true.

Reparations: What and Why
Trahern Crews will present a talk on reparations for slavery and lead the discussion. Crews is co-chair of the Green Party of the US's working group on Reparations. He is also a member of the 4th CD Green Party and their representative to the Green Party of Minnesota Coordinating Committee. Crews is also a member of Black St. Paul. Come learn about the Real Green New Deal
Albany – Since the midterms a Green New Deal has been the policy on the lips of progressive congresspeople and is the territory which the current fight to prevent the worst of climate catastrophe between the corporate state and the people.
The event will explore the various GND proposals and how to fund it. First developed in the United States by Howie Hawkins in 2010 and then promoted by Jill Stein in her presidential campaigns. It combined the need for fast, emergency action on climate with the concept of an FDR-like New Deal economic bill of rights and includes the concept of economic and financial democracy by reforming the banking system.

Members of the Green Party of Philadelphia (GPOP) have endorsed their chairperson Olivia Faison, and her campaign for Philadelphia City Council Member-at-Large. The unanimous endorsement took place on February 28, 2019, at the GPOP monthly meeting held at Shissler Recreation Center in Fishtown, Philadelphia.

Yesterday, February 27, 2019, a press conference was held at the United Nations press room in New York to announce that leaders of the US peace movement will be going to Venezuela to speak to government and civic groups about what is really happening in that country and how we can add our voices to stop any coup attempts or moves towards war.

Confronting the Empire's War Agenda: The Struggle for Peace and Social Justice
Ajamu Baraka’s appearance in New Brunswick is part of a speaking tour of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut ahead of a national and international mobilization by a broad coalition of anti-war groups in the U.S. and around the world, calling for an end to NATO, an end to war and an end to racism, beginning with a march on Washington, D.C. on March 30th, 2019.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the formation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, the extended arm of U.S. military aggression around the world. Because of the ongoing crisis in Venezuela the rally will have a focus on Venezuela, building on the February 23rd International Day of Action in Solidarity with Venezuela, in which over 130 communities world-wide participated. NATO partner Colombia has been playing a destabilizing role in Venezuela and continues to try to move “humanitarian aid” into the country with the aid of the U.S. Many aid agencies and others see this as nothing more than an invasion of the country by hostile countries.

When St. Louis City residents vote on April 2, 2019, they should know where candidates stand on privatizing the airport. When selecting the Board of Aldermen President, they need to know who is against TIF giveaways, privatization of schools, reduction of alderman seats, and the "Better Together" scam to reduce democracy in the City and County of St. Louis.
