Gulf South for a Green New Deal

New Orleans – Join us for an evening of ritual, short films, music, discussion, imagination and real conversation: about the ecological crisis we collectively face here in the Gulf South and what we must do to confront it. The National Road to a Green New Deal Tour is organized by the youth-led Sunrise Movement, and the Flagship New Orleans tour stop is anchored locally by the Gulf Coast Center for Law & Policy with a growing list of local co-sponsors. The Green Party of Louisiana is proud to get behind this effort, and as chair of our local New Orleans chapter, I'm writing to urge you to attend.   Continue reading

The Green Party Ballot Access Committee is directly involved in making this year's bid a success. Gentrification in New York City

Gentrification is not something that is beneficial to long standing community members and the cultural make-up of our communities. Gentrification has been sold to many of us as a way for things to improve, but things should have been improved without the targeted displacement of our Black and Brown communities. Gentrification is a tool of displacement, greed and an extended arm of systemic racism. It does not create diversity. Our communities are and have always had diversity. Continue reading

Do you want to host our 2020 Presidential Nominating Convention?

The Annual National Meeting Committee (ANM) is now accepting Letters of Interest (LOI) for hosting locations for the 2020 Presidential Nominating Convention through May 12, 2019. Submitting a LOI does not obligate you to submit a proposal. Likewise, you do not have to send an LOI to submit a proposal by the deadline. It simply means you are interested in getting more information about hosting and the application process. The suggested (ideal) dates for the 2020 ANM/PNC are June 18-21 or June 25-28. We hope that all applicants will be able to exhibit and possibly have a very short presentation at the Annual National Meeting in Salem. The final location will be chosen by the National Committee in August.  Continue reading

Earth Day Alert! Picket Governor Cuomo--NO WILLIAMS PIPELINE!

Nassau County, New York – All Nassau Greens and friends are urged to attend a picket to urge Governor Cuomo to stop the Williams Pipeline. Join with other climate activists at the LIU Post Tilles Center Atrium this Monday, April 22, from 10:15 AM-11:30 AM. The Tilles Center is located at 720 Northern Blvd, Greenvale, NY. Join us outside Governor Cuomo's Earth Day speech to demand he reject the Williams fracked gas pipeline proposed to run through New York Harbor. The Williams Pipeline is unnecessary, expensive and will harm both human and marine life. This fossil fuel infrastructure project is also totally incompatible with fighting climate change. Our planet requires more renewable energy, not additional harmful gas pipelines! Continue reading

Albany rally in support of Julian Assange

Pippa Bartolotti, former chair of the Wales Green Party, addressing the rally Albany, New York – The Upper Hudson Green Party rallied today in support of Julian Assange and Wikileaks, and against his imprisonment and potential extradition to the United States to face charges. These consist of aiding Chelsea Manning in remaining anonymous as she leaked evidence of grave war crimes by the United States government to Wikileaks, which commentators have pointed out is standard journalistic practice.
