Samson LeBeau Kpadenou challenges David Silvers for Florida State House District 87
Two candidates are competing in the Nov. 6 election for a seat in the Florida House of Representatives to represent District 87, which includes Greenacres, Lake Clarke Shores, Lake Worth, Palm Springs and Westgate. It is the first time in a long time that the seat is being contested in a general election, with recent challenges ending after primary elections saw the winner unopposed in the general.
Samson LeBeau Kpadenou, a waiter and progressive labor activist representing the Green Party, will challenge incumbent David Silvers, an attorney and publisher in the Democratic Party who has held the seat since 2016.

The Green in a Runoff for Congress Against Barbara Lee: Q&A with Laura Wells
For the first time in the history of California's 13th Congressional District, a General Election will feature a runoff between a Green, Laura Wells, and a Democrat, Incumbent Barbara Lee. KENT COUNTY, MI -- Three candidates -- Democrat David LaGrand, Republican Daniel Schutte and Jacob Straley, of the Green Party -- will face off in the November election in a bid to represent Kent County's 75th District in the Michigan House of Representatives.

Congressional candidates gear up to face incumbent Hoyer
Some of the candidates challenging Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md., 5th) in his bid for another term in Congress are not hopeful about their chances, but each has his own reasons for launching a campaign.
Pat Elder, the Green Party nominee from St. Mary’s County, said he decided to enter the race after Hoyer’s defense of Israeli military action in Gaza. Elder said he is seeking to draw attention to a number of issues, including campaign finance reform, shutting down the coal-fired plants at Morgantown and Chalk Point, which account for “47 percent of the coal being burned in the state,” “educating the public on the Navy’s disregard of the environment,” cutting “bloated military budgets,” raising taxes on the wealthy and providing Medicare for all.
